HER DAUGHTER, JESSICA THOMAS, TRYING TO STAY STRONG. MY MAMA JUST HAD A BEAUTIFUL SOUL AND SHE REALLY DIDN’T DESERVE WHAT SHE GOT. FRIDAY’S VIGIL COMES ONE DAY AFTER PROSECUTORS CHARGED 52 YEAR OLD RONALD FULLER WITH FIRST DEGREE RECKLESS HOMICIDE IN TIMMONS DEATH. THE CRIMINAL COMPLAINT STATING TIMMONS SON SAW FULLER WALKING FROM THE HOUSE AFTER THE SHOOTING, QUOTE, HIS MOTHER AND FULLER HAD BEEN GOING THROUGH A MESSY CHILD CUSTODY DISPUTE AND THAT HIS MOTHER HAD BEEN GRANTED CUSTODY OF THE GIRLS LAST NOVEMBER. I DON’T KNOW WHY MR. FULLER DID THIS TO MY DAUGHTER OVER A CUSTODY BATTLE THAT SHE WON, THE DOCUMENTS SAYING FULLER TOLD INVESTIGATORS THE DEVIL MADE HIM WALK OVER TO LAKISHA’S HOUSE. Loved ones of 42-year-old Lakeyshia Timmons stood in a circle holding hands, praying at 18th Street and Hadley Street Friday, just days after the mother of eight was shot and killed outside her home.Timmons' daughter, Jessica Thomas, and the rest of the family stayed strong as they spoke at the vigil."My mom just had a beautiful soul. She really didn't deserve what she got," Thomas said.Prosecutors charged 52-year-old Ronald Fuller Thursday with first-degree reckless homicide in Timmons' death. The criminal complaint stated Timmons' son saw Fuller walking from the house after the shooting, and that "his mother and Fuller have been going through a messy child custody dispute, and that his mother had been granted custody of the girls last November."Those documents said Fuller told investigators "the devil made him walk over to" Timmons' house. When questioned by investigators, Fuller reportedly said, "Yes, I did shoot her. Why? I don't have an answer." Timmons' family wants more done to prevent domestic violence and are hoping to meet with Mayor Cavalier Johnson and other city leaders in the future to find solutions.In the meantime, they're demanding justice for Timmons."We need answers," said Latanilia Timmons, Lakeyshia Timmons' daughter. "My siblings, they deserve answers, we all deserve answers. Something has to be done. This will not rest until something is done."Fuller appeared in court Friday.
