What is the best race for a Paladin in Pillars of Eternity? ›

Dwarf or Human are both solid choices.

At character creation, paladins must select one order, and automatically learn the passive ability Faith and Conviction (the effects of which scale with their order's favoured disposition - or with their level in the case of NPCs).

The Best Ability Score for the Paladin is 16 Strength and 16 Charisma for high-damage melee abilities and spells like Divine Smite. The next priority is Constitution to 14 so you have a larger enough health pool to survive. Hitting Strength and Charisma at 16 is critical for the optimal damage setup for the Paladin.

My personal favorite would be Paladin (Tank and ACC buff), Priest (Buffer/Healer), 2 Druids (AOE DPS and CC), 2 Ciphers (Single Target DPS and CC), which is a really CC heavy party. It works well but there is a lot of micromanagment since you want to chain CC abilities so that the enemy never has a chance to act.

The godlike are children of the kith ("civilized" races) who have been blessed with physical aspects associated with the gods (though some do not consider it a blessing). These aspects may take many forms and often come with mystical powers.

Spears are not as long as their two-handed kin, pikes, but they are easier to maneuver and can be used with a shield. Even with a one-handed grip, spears can strike fierce blows with high accuracy.

On a gameplay perspective, yes, you don't need to play PoE1 to enjoy PoE2, like any other games on the market that has a prequel. But on a roleplay perspective, PoE1 is a must and it is a very bad idea to skip it if you are about roleplay at all and interested in the World of PoE.

Retribution is the best spec to level your paladin in Classic WoW. Retribution talents have a lot of synergy with each other, between Deflection, Conviction, Two-Handed Weapon Specialization, and Vengeance, simply auto attacking will get you through most of your leveling content.

Race, Gender, and backgrounds in general didn't matter. You're The Watcher, and that's it. It certainly didn't affect choices available, as choices didn't actually matter in PoE.

However the vast majority of Paladins in Eberron are Human. This is an important choice for players, as all races in DDO, are quite playable as Paladins, and each have their pluses and minuses. Yes, even Warforged, with their -2 Wisdom & -2 Charisma can make excellent Paladins.
