The Coffee County School System is composedof eight elementary schools (pre-K through grade 5), one middle school (gradessix through eight), a ninth-grade academy, onecomprehensive high school (grades ten through twelve),one separate college and career academy (grades ninethrough twelve) and one alternative program (grades sixthrough twelve). The school system is governed by a five-member board of education elected for a four-year term on anon-partisan basis. The school superintendent is appointedby the board and serves as the chief executive officer.The system serves approximately 7,600 students in Pre-K through 12th grade.

Pre-K Orientation Set for August 3
Pre-K Orientation for the 2024-2025 school year will be held on Saturday, August 3 at Indian Creek Elementary School.

2024 Commencement to be Held June 1
Commencement for Coffee High School and Wiregrass Regional College & Career Academy will be held on Saturday, June 1st at 8:30 a.m. at Dan A. Jardine Stadium. The stadium will be opened for seating at 7:00 a.m. The graduates’ procession will begin at approximately 8:15 a.m. At this time, the South HOME gate will be locked and remain locked throughout the ceremony. The commencement ceremony will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.

Coffee Schools Host Dyslexia Assessment Authors
Two co-authors of the Tests of Dyslexia (TOD) were in Coffee County this week to share about this new assessment that was released in February. School Psychologists from six school districts heard Dr. R. Steve McCallum and Dr. Sherry Mee Bell discuss the first comprehensive assessment of dyslexia. The authors shared about the development, standardization, and evaluation process using the TOD instruments.
